When Hong Kong banker Winston was diagnosed with colon cancer, it was a stark wake-up call.
For years the 46-year-old had lived the unhealthiest of lifestyles with high stress, poor nutrition and little exercise.
But when doctors gave him the grave diagnosis, it forced him to seriously examine his lifestyle.
He knew his laser focus on his career had led him to neglect his health over the years.
So after successfully beating cancer, Winston vowed to change his ways and focus on cultivating a healthy life.

“For the longest time, I have been extremely unhealthy; not eating correctly or sleeping well. Basically, I was just neglecting my health for the sake of work, and I wanted to change that.
“A little over two years ago when I was diagnosed with colon cancer, it woke me up and gave me a powerful incentive to change my life. It made me realise that I can’t keep neglecting my health.”
Winston was committed to improving his health, but it still took him some time to overcome his psychological barriers around committing to an intensive programme.

“The photoshoot was fun. It was unconventional. Given the lockdown, in Hong Kong, the plans were changed overnight. When we shifted the shoot outdoors, I was a bit concerned, but then I said ‘what the heck!’ It turned out pretty well!
“Being a shy type, the fact that I was able to do it in the open really says a lot. I am not the type to take selfies, etc. but given the big transformation that I had over the past few months, it gave me a lot of confidence. Now I don’t mind showing off a little bit and am happy to share with everyone how I did it and the entire process.”
But perhaps the biggest benefit for Winston is that he has future-proofed his health.
“I was able to achieve a lot of my goals – I became stronger, healthier, and more importantly, I laid out the foundation for lifelong healthy living.
